Welcome to the 2007-2008 Season!

Welcome to the 2007-2008 season! Pacesetter Sports had a very successful 2006-2007 season, providing over 70 basketball and volleyball day camps, over 100 basketball tournaments and publishing Minnesota Basketball News for the 14th season.

The 70 instructional basketball and volleyball day camps were held throughout the 5-state area of Wisconsin, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Minnesota. Pacesetter also conducted three overnight instructional camps at The College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph, Minnesota: a Shooting camp, a Championship Basketball camp, and The Best of Pacesetter camp.

Pacesetter again held the highly-successful Minnesota Youth State Basketball Championships with regional qualifying in all eight regions of Minnesota for boys and girls in grades 5-9. Over 700 teams participated statewide. Ten state champions were crowned in July at The College of St. Benedict:

Minnesota Youth State Champions - 2007

7th Boys - Montevideo
8th Boys - Zumbrota-Mazeppa
9th Boys - Mayer

5th Girls - Moorhead

Pacesetter also hosted a schedule of varsity basketball tournaments, including two major championships, the Pacesetter MIT (Minnesota Invitational Tournament) and the Pacesetter “Sweet 16”, featuring the top four teams from each class for both boys and girls. The winners of the Pacesetter MIT were the Crosby-Ironton boys and the Hawley girls. The Sweet 16 champions were the Minnetonka boys and the Centennial girls.

Minnesota Basketball News provided seven monthly issues (32-56 pages each), featuring high school and college basketball. Subscriptions for 2007-2008 are available online. MBBN also conducted two Top 100 Expo Showcases, providing over 140 top players with a chance to be seen by college coaches and the MBBN staff.

Pacesetter Sports will be providing all of these programs and services again in 2007-2008 with even more opportunities added for youth camps and fundraisers. All Pacesetter activities will be provided on this website as they are scheduled. Stay tuned!
