| 2011 North Dakota Youth Basketball State Championship |
The 2011 North Dakota Youth Basketball State Championship for grades 5-9 will be conducted by Pacesetter Sports at The University of North Dakota in Grand Forks on Saturday, April 9, (boys) and Sunday, April 10, (girls) at the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center.
All teams are guaranteed 3 games in the state tournament. Each age/gender division will be limited to the first sixteen teams to register. There are no divisions by class or school size. All players must either attend the same school or live in the same school district. Smaller schools may combine as long as their combined high school enrollment for grades 9-12 is not greater than 400 students.
The champion and runner-up from the South Dakota state tournament will be invited to play in the Great Four-State Tournament at theTarget Center in Minneapolis in July and August competing against the top teams from Iowa, South Dakota, and Minnesota. North Dakota teams won three of the ten “Great State” titles in 2010: New Town 8th grade girls, Bismarck 7th grade girls, and Four Winds 5th grade boys.
All players in the state tournament will be offered free tickets to attend a Minnesota Timberwolves game in 2011-2012. Teams are encouraged to register soon by either sending in the form (PDF) or registering online. The team fee for the state tournament is $120/team.
