2011 South Dakota Youth Basketball State Championship

The 2011 South Dakota Youth Basketball State Championship for grades 5-9 will be conducted by Pacesetter Sports at Augustana College in Sioux Falls on Saturday, April 9, (boys) and Sunday, April 10, (girls) at the Elmen Center.

All teams are guaranteed 3 games in the state tournament.  Each age/gender division will be limited to the first sixteen teams to register.  There are no divisions by class or school size.  All players must either attend the same school or live in the same school district.  Smaller schools may combine as long as their combined high school enrollment for grades 9-12 is not greater than 400 students.

The champion and runner-up from the South Dakota state tournament will be invited to play in the Great Four-State Tournament at the Target Center in Minneapolis in July and August competing against the top teams from Iowa, North Dakota, and Minnesota.  South Dakota teams won three of the ten “Great State” titles in 2010:  Sioux Falls Roosevelt 9th grade boys, Sioux Falls Wolfpack 6th grade boys, and the Huron 6th grade girls.

All players in the state tournament will be offered free tickets to attend a Minnesota Timberwolves game in 2011-2012.  Teams are encouraged to register soon by either sending in the form (PDF) or registering online.  The team fee for the state tournament is $120/team.
